In addition, “Doctors N Da Hood” is a platform for people otherwise forgotten to share their stories and perspectives. We collaborate with writers to create fictional narratives inspired by real-life experiences in underserved communities. Dr. Erma Hollingsworth Ph.D.
Dr. Erma Hollingsworth has a Ph.D. in Organizational Management and Leadership and is co-owner of a Publishing Company called “Doctors N Da Hood”. Dr. Erma’s Publishing Company specializes in copyrighting, editing, and publishing. Dr. Erma has written three books and provides hope and self-reliance to females and female ex-offenders by lobbying for the coordinating of local, state and federal resources to help provide a stable, self-sustaining and scalable system of resources through charitable social programs and gateway services, that can provide access to food, clothing, shelter, medical-physical, mental and substance abuse treatment programs, financial and legal services, educational-vocational training, employment resources and jobs.
Dr. Erma is an ex-offender and a recovering addict. Dr. Erma brings to the table theories in psychology and academic expertise in a plethora of areas.
Dr. Erma is affiliated with New Life Covenant Church and a University of Phoenix Alumni. As an owner of an organization, Sisters with Hope Inc, Dr. Erma works with ex-offenders. Dr Erma also does charity work for women and children’s homeless shelters. Dr. Erma Hollingsworth has three daughters.
Dr. Mica V. Battle Ph.D.
Dr. Mica V. Battle has a Ph.D. in Organizational Management and Leadership and is the Executive Director of a non-profit prison re-entry program called Bridge to Freedom. Dr. Mica visits both male and female prisons, in Illinois and in different parts of the world, like in the Kingdom of Cambodia, Southeast Asia. Dr. Mica was an adjunct professor at four of the best universities in Viet Nam. Students love Dr. Mica’s unique style of teaching Leadership Development, both in Asia and in America. Working in inner-city Chicago has also made Dr. Mica the perfect candidate to mentor and teach leadership in the City of Compton, CA.
Dr. Mica enjoys writing books to empower those dealing with grief, shame, overcoming addiction and she has recently released a workbook that will teach ordinary people how to compose a book, and become published authors. You can find Dr. Mica at Chicago Soul an eclectic coffee house owned by Dr. Mica and her husband Michael Abbott. In addition, Dr. Mica owns and operates a Black Box Theater in Chicago.
Raised in the streets of Chicago, predominantly the Woodlawn area and a Kenwood High School alumni where she experienced drug addiction, prison and other trauma, Dr. Mica brings to the table both theoretical frameworks and experiences in life.
Dr. Mica has two sisters and three adult children, Shawn, British & Gordon who have blessed her with five wonderful grandchildren.
